"The Rose in the Diamond"

Once upon a time, there was a king who possessed a magnificent diamond, a royal heirloom passed down through generations. The king displayed the diamond in a museum for all to see. One day, a soldier rushed to the king with urgent news: without anyone touching it, the diamond had spontaneously cracked. The king hurried to inspect it and found that, just as the soldier had reported, a prominent crack had appeared in the center of the diamond.

The king immediately summoned all the jewelers in the kingdom. However, after examining the diamond one by one, the jewelers brought bad news: the diamond was now worthless because the crack was irreparable.

The king was heartbroken, feeling as though he had lost everything.

Later, an elderly man claiming to be a jeweler appeared from out of nowhere. He volunteered to examine the broken diamond and said to the king, "Please do not be sorrowful. I can repair it, and even make it better than it was before."

The king was both surprised and skeptical, but the old man confidently promised that he would return in one week with a perfectly restored diamond.

The king immediately arranged a room for the old man and provided him with all the necessary tools.

A week later, the old man returned with the diamond in hand.

To the king's utter disbelief, the old man had used the curved crack as a stem to carve a blooming rose inside the diamond. It was exquisite, brilliant, and breathtaking!

Overjoyed, the king promised to grant the old man half of his kingdom. But in front of everyone, the old man declined, saying, "Your Majesty, I have done nothing extraordinary and cannot accept such a grand reward. I have merely transformed something with a flaw into a work of art."
