There was once a carpenter renowned for his excellent craftsmanship in making doors. He crafted a door for his own home, believing it was made of solid materials and exquisite workmanship, ensuring it would last a lifetime.
As time passed, however, the nails on the door began to rust. When a wooden plank fell off, the carpenter simply found a new nail to fix it, and the door seemed as good as new. Soon, another nail came loose, and he replaced it. Later, a plank broke, so he replaced it with another. Eventually, the latch broke, and he simply replaced the latch...
Years later, despite numerous repairs, the door remained sturdy thanks to the carpenter's meticulous patching. The carpenter felt immense pride in this, thinking, "If not for my skills, I wouldn't know what to do when the door breaks."
One day, a neighbor remarked, "You're a carpenter; take a look at your own door!" Upon closer inspection, the carpenter realized that while his neighbors' doors were stylish and made of high-quality materials, his own door was old, worn out, and covered in patches. It was then he understood: his very skill of "patching" had become the barrier preventing his "door" from evolving.
