Thousands of years ago, sages revealed the shortcut to navigating life: difficult tasks begin with simplicity, and great endeavors start with small things. Therefore, when handling any matter, one must begin with the small and easy. Much like a soldier finding a breakthrough in an enemy line to achieve an unstoppable momentum, solving problems is a progressive process. By tackling tasks from easy to difficult, we gain familiarity and confidence, allowing us to remain calm and composed even as challenges grow.
Much of human confusion stems from choice; the more choices one faces, the more pain often arises. You are often controlled by what you possess. To be free of desire is to be strong. Only by letting go can you escape the shackles of desire. Excessive desire is a source of suffering, while contentment is one's greatest wealth.
While everyone has the right to choose their lifestyle, material abundance does not equate to infinite happiness. No matter how many houses you own, you can only live in one room and sleep in one bed. Even with a table full of delicacies, you can only eat one full meal. You may own countless shoes, but you can only wear one pair at a time; a wardrobe full of luxury clothes, but you only wear one outfit; a fleet of cars, but you only drive one on the street. If the desire for wealth expands boundlessly and compromises your health, love, marriage, and family, you will spend your life in constant anxiety and unrest. If this desire turns into insatiable greed, it will ultimately destroy your life.
