Due to the limitations of subjective and objective conditions, what we "want to do" and what we "should do" may not always be achievable. To make a tangible contribution to society through our life's value, we must focus on what is "possible" for us to do. Practice the addition and subtraction of life: increase knowledge and decrease worries; increase friendship and decrease resentment; increase kindness and decrease discouragement; increase confidence and decrease mistrust; increase magnanimity and decrease jealousy; increase progress and decrease reliance on tobacco and alcohol.
Smooth and adverse situations are merely distinctions made by the mundane. If you cling to attachments and your mind is disturbed, you are in adversity; If you let go and remain calm, everything becomes a smooth path. Love is ultimately a habit—you become accustomed to their presence, and they become accustomed to yours. Kindness is an eternal spring, a light in the darkness, and sunshine for the spiritual world. Kindness is the most precious character a person can possess.
Confusion often follows us like a shadow. We feel lost when setting goals, fearing we lack the ability to achieve them, and once a goal is reached, we feel lost again wondering what the next one should be, falling into a vicious cycle.
It is not about refusing consumption, but about refusing waste. Instead of merely tightening one's belt to save money, one should use their intellect to choose better ways to consume, following the principle of "buying what is right, not what is expensive." Consumers should learn to analyze and compare, practicing rational consumption by considering timing, cost-effectiveness, and utility, with the goal of living a better life with fewer resources.
In today's world, if everyone adhered to such standards, conflicts and resentment would be greatly diminished.
If you smile at others, they will smile back; if you are respectful, they will be respectful; if you speak harshly, they will respond with sarcasm. In life, we interact with various people—classmates, friends, elders, colleagues, and leaders—and our attitude often determines our success and future. A warm attitude attracts friends and respect, while a rude attitude can cause you to lose everything. Therefore, regardless of whom you encounter, treat them with a sincere and warm heart.
If you keep things simple, the world will be simple to you.
