Flowers bloom beautifully, or a meal tastes delicious, largely because the heart is free from attachments. Reaching middle age, one finally sees through time and understands life. In the ups and downs of life, how much can we truly control? It is better to let nature take its course. There is always a breezy morning, a magnificent dusk, and dew to nourish the flowers. Everything is destined. Life does not require much; if you only grasp without knowing how to let go, life becomes a burden. Learning to let go brings a rare sense of ease and freedom.
In this vast world, humans are like travelers passing through in the blink of an eye. We rush and toil all to reach a destination. There are ebbs and flows, yet there is also the beauty of vast oceans and endless skies. Grievances and conflicts are ultimately just lessons that pass like drifting clouds. Flowers bloom and fall in cycles; scenery shifts constantly. Some things cannot be held, and some places cannot be reached. Only with equanimity can one find release, and only with a clear heart can one find peace and joy.
The Buddha said: Those who are gentle are naturally kind. Those who are magnanimous are naturally transcendent. Those who are profound are naturally broad-minded. Those who are inclusive are naturally joyful.
As you live, plant a sun within your heart. Use it to warm yourself in cold days, to light your way in darkness, and to guide you through confusion. Life is not always as one wishes; not all expectations are met, and not all cherished things last forever. Sometimes you desire simplicity, but the world is too complex; sometimes you work hard, yet still lack recognition; sometimes you are sincere, yet meet with doubt. In these moments, you may feel despondent and discouraged, lost on the road ahead.
