Flowers are the darlings of nature. They are colorful, beautiful, and charming, and almost everyone loves them. People may admire them for their beauty or fragrance, but few notice the life philosophy hidden within them.
Once, while buying flowers with my mother, the shop owner said, “The more simple and elegant a flower is, the more fragrant it tends to be.” Life is much the same. Those who appear ordinary and simple often have purer hearts, free from excessive desires and distractions. They live quietly and contribute silently. However, such qualities, like elegant flowers in nature, are not commonly found.
I once discussed the lotus in the pond in front of my grandmother’s house. She said, “Pick the lotus flowers that have already bloomed in the early morning.” I replied, “The earlier they bloom, the sooner they wither.” She smiled and said, “A flower that does not bloom in the morning will not bloom at night either.” This made me realize that we should act early in life. Learning and working are the same; as the saying goes, the plan of the day lies in the morning. We should cherish the early hours and work hard.
A flower farmer once told me, “The more delicate a flower is, the more easily it withers.” This is just like youth in life—precious, short, and fleeting. Therefore, we must cherish time and value our youth. As the saying goes, flowers may bloom again, but a person will never be young again. Do not regret wasting your youth when old age comes.
A friend once said, “I love roses, but I hate their thorns.” This is also true in life: no one is perfect. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses, and even great people are no exception. While appreciating others’ strengths, we must also learn to accept their imperfections, without letting flaws hurt ourselves or our relationships.
The world of flowers is diverse and colorful, and the philosophy hidden within it is equally rich. It only depends on whether we are willing to discover it. Flowers are not only for appreciation, but also wise teachers and companions in life.
