Success is not achieved overnight, and strength is not innate. Since we are not geniuses, the path to success will inevitably be fraught with obstacles, and failures and setbacks will naturally be interlude on this journey. We do not need to feel inferior in the face of setbacks, for self-doubt is more damaging than failure itself. Look at those who have succeeded; which of them has not experienced countless failures before tasting the joy of victory? Behind every flower and every round of applause lies rigorous tempering and hard work.
Of course, when we speak of success and perseverance, we do not mean the boastful words of the arrogant, nor when we speak of willpower, do we mean the blind vanity of the proud. True perseverance requires being grounded and taking one step at a time. Some claim there are shortcuts to success, but they often overlook the essence of these shortcuts: diligence, meticulousness, and persistence. Have we applied these to our studies? While I am not perfect, I have accumulated some personal insights. These methods may not be perfectly effective or suitable for everyone, but I believe that persistence is the key to success. Therefore, I would like to share some insights on learning. First, we should set ambitious life goals alongside practical, actionable immediate targets. Goals provide direction and act as a constant drive, motivating us to move forward. Thinking of our parents' expectations and our own future, how should we act?
Second, attitude determines everything. In class, listen attentively, follow the teacher's logic, and participate actively. When you feel enriched by every lesson, your confidence in learning will naturally surge. Although studying can sometimes feel tedious, if we can find joy within the struggle, our grades will surely improve. Learning is like a competitive race that requires continuous effort. Life offers few chances to strive; wasting our high school years will only lead to future regrets. Have we been diligent in our morning readings? Have we maintained a quiet environment during evening rest? Do we ask teachers for help when we encounter difficulties? Do we complete our assignments independently and on time? If we fail to do these, we are losing precious opportunities.
Learning is nothing to be ashamed of. If someone mocks you for your hard work, it is because they are envying you. You can answer them by proving the value of your diligence. Students, challenge yourselves! Without self-imposed pressure, how will you discover your true potential? From this moment on, let go of any mental burdens, hold yourself to high standards, and create a brilliant high school experience. Do not let wasted time become a regret; do not cause sorrow to your parents or teachers. Let us use thought as our wind and knowledge as our sail, using strong willpower to reach the shores of success. We shall forge ahead together—are you ready?
