The joy of liberation through letting go far surpasses the joy of acquisition. By this logic, death might be more liberating than birth, and divorce might be more freeing than marriage.
Perhaps the true meaning of life lies in perceiving its inherent futility.
We often do not know what we truly desire, which is why we seek incessantly without ever finding satisfaction. Upon reaching a goal, we find it is not what we truly wanted, prompting us to chase the next, only to encounter the same realization again and again. Through this constant searching, we never attain our true desire, for it does not reside in a goal or an outcome. Only when we cease all searching can that essence arrive of its own accord.
In infancy, we do not know how to mask ourselves, but as we approach the end of life, we must shed all pretenses because we no longer have the strength to maintain them. We spend very little of our lives living authentically.
Rather than resisting established facts, it is better to accept them.
