A young novice climber prepared to ascend the Swiss Alps. As this was his first time tackling a truly high mountain, he invited two experienced guides to accompany him.
The path was dangerous and steep, yet with two skilled guides protecting him from both front and rear, he felt no sense of danger.
After a long and arduous climb, as they were exhausted and gasping for breath, the summit was finally in sight. To allow the novice to be the first to stand upon the peak and experience the breathtaking view, the guide in front moved aside, letting the young climber lead the way. Entranced by the magic of achievement, the young climber jumped up in excitement to celebrate his victory, completely forgetting the fierce gusts that could strike the summit at any moment. In that instant, the head guide rushed forward and pulled him to the ground.
"Get down! Kneel!" he shouted sternly. "At this position, no posture is safe unless you are kneeling on the ground!"
There are many moments in life when we long to stand tall and bask in our success and glory. Yet, it is precisely in these moments that we are most vulnerable to being swept away by the winds.
