The most painful state is lingering between letting go and holding on. Once you truly decide to let go, a sense of relief actually follows. From then on, pain and love are buried deep within the heart. Such is life—full of pain and wounds. Whether we once held on or let them drift away, those things never truly leave us. Some matters cannot be revisited, some memories cannot be unraveled, and some people can only be buried forever.
Every day, we scrutinize many things: what we eat, what we wear, what we use, and even our relatives and friends. Yet, we never scrutinize the thoughts within our own minds; we believe whatever they tell us. Once we observe and become aware, we must have enough mental capacity to embrace and accept. This is a skill no one can give you; you must cultivate it yourself.
The older I get, the more I realize that life sometimes requires waiting. Let what comes come, and let what leaves leave. Do not force things, and do not cling too tightly. What cannot be understood will eventually be understood; what cannot be obtained will eventually be given in another form. Do not rush, and do not complain; simply wait to see what answer time provides. Perhaps the answer itself is not important; once you let go, nothing matters most.
Wisdom sometimes lies not in how many mysteries we solve for others, but in whether we can make the right choice at the right time. Like a wise climber, it's not about climbing relentlessly, but about resting at the foot of the mountain and gazing at the sea of clouds to discern which peak will ultimately be yours.
