Who says a goalkeeper cannot score goals? Pessimism is theoretically unassailable, but the practice of life can dispel its toxicity. A mother passes by the shop where she used to buy food and supplies for you; she instinctively walks in, thinking about what to get you next, only to stop abruptly, standing stunned at the entrance. The phone rings, and I rush toward it, fearing the sharp sound might wake you. But my hand, poised to answer, pulls back. Let it ring; you will never be woken again, and I no longer have any calls that I must take. If a person cannot even govern themselves, how can they achieve anything? Time steals our innocence. Life grows increasingly vast, yet increasingly superficial. The most enduring harvest of life is, in fact, learning to cherish. Time settles into the truest of emotions. Sometimes we feel exhausted; physical fatigue stems from the burden of external labor, while mental fatigue arises from the struggles within our hearts. A sow chasing a rabbit runs out of breath; a rabbit chasing an eagle acts without purpose.
