There was a man who wanted to study medicine but was hesitant. He asked a friend, "In four years, I will be forty-four. Will it still be too late?" The friend replied, "Why wouldn't it be? Even if you don't study medicine, you will still be forty-four in four years." This realization dawned on him, and he enrolled the very next day.
A neighbor of mine had once partnered with someone for business. Later, their cargo ship encountered a storm, and all their wealth and dreams sank to the bottom of the sea. He could not bear the blow and fell into despair, appearing lost and distracted. When he saw another partner who had suffered the same loss living life to the fullest, he went to ask why. The man replied, "Whether you curse and grieve, or you rejoice and laugh, the days pass by just the same. Which one do you choose?"
Reflection: As a poem says, "Whether you cherish them or not, flowers strive to bloom." Indeed, flowers always strive to bloom, and beautiful days flow by day by day. Dear friend, will you endure life in pain, or are you willing to embrace each day with joy?
