The true meaning of education is to awaken the soul, ensuring it remains present in all of life's scenarios. Conversely, if one's soul is constantly absent, regardless of how much knowledge or status they possess, they can still be considered an uneducated person.
Master Sheng Yen said, "Peace begins with tranquility; happiness begins with letting go; awakening begins with forgiveness. Life does not become exhausting when we stop complaining." If we blame others or heaven, everything in life will seem flawed; however, if we stop complaining, the world will grant us unexpected beauty. Xunzi said, "Those who know themselves do not blame others, and those who understand destiny do not blame heaven; those who blame others will fall into poverty, and those who blame heaven will lose their ambition." Wise people never complain, as it only adds to their sorrow. When facing adversity, it is best to change your perspective so that challenges can turn into advantages. Seeing the world with this "carefree" mindset will make life much more beautiful.
Forgiving others' mistakes is more effective than lecturing them. Do not be too harsh or critical toward others; resolving matters with a "lenient" attitude may yield better results. Thank those who hurt you, for they temper your willpower; thank those who trip you, for they strengthen your legs; thank those who deceive you, for they increase your wisdom; thank those who despise you, for they awaken your self-respect; and thank those who abandon you, for they teach you independence.
