"Being Willing to Suffer Losses Is Not Foolishness, and Fearing Petty People Is Not Weakness"
Recently, news of death has become frequent—whether through sudden accidents, tragic suicides, or terminal illnesses. These unpredictable events serve as a profound reminder of life's fragility. Sometimes, life slips away before we even realize it; a single moment can turn a presence into a memory forever. Just as we are poised to fulfill our ambitions, life may already be on the brink of fading.
No amount of success or wealth can extend the span of life. In the face of mortality, money and power appear pale and powerless. Even if one were to command the entire world, they could never command the length of their life.
Life is precious yet incredibly fragile for every individual. If asked what true happiness is, my answer is simple: to be alive. Being alive is the greatest happiness of all. Therefore, we must cherish every moment, every minute, and every second.
People in this world are as diverse as leaves on a tree. Some cross our paths, some become lifelong companions, and some may even harbor resentment. We cannot force others to share our thoughts or language; instead, we should learn to appreciate our differences. Every individual possesses a unique beauty and essence, much like how even twins are distinct.
While humans share a common instinct for possession, we will encounter many different temperaments and values on our journey. We cannot control the actions or thoughts of others, which sometimes leads to misunderstandings or being wronged. When explanations are futile, silence may be the most powerful response—as long as you remain true to yourself.
Life is filled with remarkable stories, and we often find ourselves observing from the sidelines. Approach others with a tranquil heart. If a connection is made, embrace it; if not, let it be. By viewing everyone with a peaceful mind, we can live more serenely.
The scale of liking or disliking is ours to define. Being willing to concede is not a sign of stupidity, and being cautious of petty people is not a sign of incompetence. Stepping back allows for a broader perspective, and yielding a little brings peace of mind. We should strive to be the wise masters of our own lives.
Walk your own path and let others speak. Only those who dare to laugh and cry with authenticity are truly living with genuine emotion.
