The world is but a great dream; how many times has life been renewed with coolness? Betting on books, splashing tea to erase the scent—it was all so ordinary at the time. Like a dream, illusory, sometimes close, sometimes distant. Sell the five-colored horse, trade the thousand-gold robe; call the servant to buy fine wine, and let us together dissolve our eternal sorrow. Reunion and separation are all indifferent; let the raindrops on the steps fall until dawn.
On our journey to the next destination in life, we often carry excessive burdens, leading to severe physical exhaustion and heavy, stumbling steps on the road ahead. If we can shed these seemingly important but unnecessary burdens and learn to travel light, we can savor the taste of life more leisurely and reach our desired places with greater ease and freedom.
If I had never met you, I would not have understood what it means to like someone. I would not have tried to guess or be curious about whether you were happy or sad, nor would I have shared in your joys or anxieties. Even knowing that you liked her, I would have foolishly tried to help you find ways to make things work, foolishly telling you about her past which you did not know but wished to, and foolishly hoping for your happiness. I would not have taken your school uniform to have her sign it, nor cherished the classmate's register you wrote as a treasure, nor foolishly reminisced about our days as desk-mates after graduation. In truth, those days were very happy.
In life, the most precious thing is time, the most brutal is career, and the happiest is the art of yielding.
