Those who can let go find happiness, while those who cannot remain trapped. As the saying goes, "To let go is to attain enlightenment." Yet, how many people in this world can truly let go? What is the reason behind holding on? Is it for oneself, or for others?
In truth, whether to let go or not depends entirely on oneself. For a person with firm resolve, external pressure is ineffective. Even in the 1980s, was there truly any power that could actually sanction men and women pursuing love? One could say that even if "public opinion" or "moral standards" existed, they are ultimately powerless against those who choose to ignore them.
Yet, why do some still find it impossible to let go? It is because they themselves are unwilling to release their grip. No one else can intervene, just as no one can forcefully stop them. Therefore, there is no need to blame others; one should instead look within. When a person chooses to cling despite having the freedom to act otherwise, the true obstacle lies deep within the heart!
It has been said that every individual builds a cage with their own thoughts, imprisons themselves within it, and yet desperately tries to escape—a pursuit that is ultimately futile.
How do you decide your path? Aside from yourself, no one can help you, and no one can stop you!
