Who says each leaf is not a flower of life? They always yield to the flowers, letting them bloom first, before sprouting their own fresh greenery. This is the preciousness of the leaf. To live is to be a singing green leaf; to die is to become a handful of quiet soil. Such sincere emotion is deeply moving. It feels as though the men in this world are like green leaves, silently accompanying a beautiful woman through her life. That gentle warmth deserves a lifetime of reflection.
In life, there is someone who brings you joy and yet inexplicable sorrow, yet you cannot refuse their beauty, because your life once breathed in unison with theirs. Is someone worth a lifetime of longing a regret, a blessing, a sadness, or a beauty? Perhaps it is regret that creates this beauty, and that lifetime of slight melancholy is, in fact, a kind of blessing.
Life is an unending journey. Through the paths of wind and rain, there is grandeur, there are vicissitudes, and there is bitterness that others may not understand. But we must persevere with grit and a heart of gratitude—for those who accompany us, for those who bring us warmth, and for those who give love without seeking reward.
Every person and event encountered in life is a breathtaking scenery along the way. To experience them calmly is to savor the mellow charm of life. In quiet years and warm lives, a gentle word or a hint of fragrance, if accompanied by an understanding soul, is the most beautiful scenery. One day, we will return everything to time. If we can have that one soul-to-soul leaning across thousands of mountains and rivers in this life, life will no longer be a monotonous void. Those souls who gave me warmth in the night, I shall never forget. Traversing the blurred lines of worldly poetry, there is always a soul out there like mine. I ask nothing of her, only that I may accompany her as we grow old together, quietly, until the very end.
