How can one practice having a tranquil heart in daily life? I believe it can be achieved through the following aspects:

First, a person with a tranquil heart should maintain a calm and ordinary mindset. Confucius once said, "不义而富且贵,于我如浮云" (Wealth and honor gained through injustice are to me as floating clouds). To regard wealth and status as mere clouds demonstrates profound composure and tranquility. To attain inner peace in life and work, one must possess a calm mindset and the serene tranquility of "行到水穷处,坐看云起时" (Sitting and watching the clouds rise when the water reaches its end). A calm mindset should be a "constant state"—a lifelong philosophy of life that one attains after reaching a certain level of cultivation. This means maintaining a peaceful and positive attitude; in modern terms, it is to "live in the moment and live brilliantly." As Mencius said, "仁是人的心,义是人的路" (Benevolence is the heart of man, and righteousness is the path of man). By maintaining a calm mindset, staying detached from fame and fortune, and pursuing tranquility, one should always be grateful to life and those around them. One must also have an open mind, being able to grasp opportunities and let go of what is no longer needed. To maintain physical and mental stability, to see one's situation clearly, and to distinguish between what should and should not be done—this is true wisdom.

Second, one should maintain a balanced attitude. Attitude refers to one's psychological state, and its importance cannot be overstated. A fortunate person with an unbalanced attitude may fail to appreciate their blessings, while someone facing hardships can still smile if they maintain a good attitude. When evaluating oneself, a healthy mindset is essential; overemphasizing the self can lead to isolation. As the saying goes, "人逢喜事精神爽" (A person is refreshed when something good happens), but one should not indulge in excessive revelry during happy times, nor should one despair during low moments. Instead, one should adjust their attitude and face everything with composure. It is also vital to understand others: "退一步,海阔天空" (Take a step back, and the sea and sky will be vast). The journey of life is rugged and filled with both hope and temptation. When facing setbacks, one should treat everything with tolerance. As the proverb goes, "爱人者,人恒爱之;敬人者,人恒敬之" (Those who love others will be loved; those who respect others will be respected). Use an open and broad heart to treat yourself and others well.

Third, one should follow the natural course of things. On the road of life, there are successes and failures, perfection and flaws. Let everything happen naturally. Maintain a mindset of following nature to face life and the various experiences that come our way. Do not forget what you once had, and cherish what you have gained. Do not give up on what belongs to you, and let what is lost remain a memory; to get what you desire, you must work even harder. By maintaining a natural state of mind, you can seize every moment and face every yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Success or failure in life depends on how one handles it; even amidst great hardships, one should always maintain the spirit of following nature.

Finally, one should be magnanimous and broad-minded. Magnanimity means having a large capacity to tolerate others. Being big-hearted sounds easy, but it is difficult in practice. The ancients said, "宰相肚里能撑船" (A prime minister's belly can hold a boat), referring to a character formed through post-natal tempering. Magnanimity is a virtue, much like how the ocean accommodates all rivers and mountains accommodate all trees. When facing the "sand" in life, try to embrace hardships and pains with a vast heart; only then will life become more fulfilling and beautiful. Quiet your mind, study diligently, and calmly observe the changes in the world. Only in this way can you possess foresight and keen insight.
