26. Perhaps hardships are the necessary path to success, and it is only through experience that we truly understand: God created humanity so that we might savor the essence of life. Only those who know how to utilize "today" can lay the foundation for a successful career and nurture the hope of tomorrow.
27. Confucius said, "To remonstrate gently with one's parents." When faced with a parent's mistakes, a truly filial child does not blindly obey; instead, one should act with tact, using a respectful heart and gentle words, or seek the assistance of an appropriate elder to prevent them from committing greater transgressions. To subdue others by force is not true submission; only by reason can one truly win hearts. Especially after gaining power, it is easy to lose one's way and sink into authoritarianism. At such times, one is most likely to create enemies unknowingly; be mindful that misused power can lead to boundless wrongdoing.
28. In interpersonal relationships, pay special attention to a sense of inferiority. Toward the strong, there is no need to feel ashamed, diminish yourself, or act servile; understand that while positions differ, dignity is equal, and losing your mindset will not win you respect. Toward the weak, there is no need to be condescending, dismissive, or arrogant; understand that those who do not respect others do not deserve respect, and fear is not respect. Do not let an inferiority complex transform into a petty mindset.
29. To be neither humble nor arrogant is the best state for conducting oneself. Being too concerned with the eyes and opinions of others only leads to hesitation and loss of self, individuality, and value. Sticking to your chosen path and believing in your convictions is the correct way. How others perceive you is not important; what matters is being true to yourself and doing what you truly desire to do. Only with dignity can one remain elegant and calm.
30. Be flexible in thinking and efficient in action. Cultivate the awareness to stop and reflect, then continue through practice. The process of living is much the same; those who fail to learn from experience will only tread water, while those with high perceptiveness will act with efficiency.
31. Many in the throes of passionate love are like Zhang Sheng and Cui Yingying, feeling as though a day apart is like three autumns. Their longing is like a continuous stream, their attachment like a kite tied to a thin string... In short, the mood of passionate love is both urgent and sweet, leaving one intoxicated and even losing reason. It is precisely because of their love that they fall into this beautiful prison of happiness, which others envy.
32. In life, some find it easy to tolerate the flaws or eccentricities of others, but the hardest thing is to lack the magnanimity to tolerate talent. You can tolerate someone's shortcomings or their unconventional ways, but when they possess a talent greater than your own, a base jealousy arises—because you cannot tolerate the fact that they will eventually surpass you.
33. Hide your emotions and let your words be your expression. Words are the pivot of honor and disgrace, and the key to closeness or distance; they can unite or divide, breed resentment or hatred; on a large scale, they can topple nations, and on a small scale, they can scatter families.
34. Do not look at improper things, do not listen to improper sounds, do not speak improper words, and do not walk on improper paths; do not associate with those who are not good, do not take things that are not good, seek the virtuous like seeking orchids, and avoid evil as you would avoid snakes and scorpions.
35. Humility is a traditional virtue that bestows a unique charm upon a person. A humble person always gathers friends because they consistently win the respect and affection of others.
36. Practice perspective-taking. If you feel that an action has harmed you, it may have also harmed someone else.
37. Unknown flowers release their fragrance in quiet blooming; unknown strong individuals emerge through silent struggle.
38. Feeling lonely is often because you lack something to focus on and something to give of yourself.
39. Clear the path through mountains and build bridges over waters—learn to cater to others' preferences.
40. Time is an eternal bystander; we must bear all processes and results ourselves. Looking forward reveals dreams and goals; looking back offers inspection and correction. How many things could have been done better if we had looked back? How many mistakes and regrets could have been avoided if we had reflected? In truth, the path ahead is often written behind us.
41. Sometimes, waiting is merely a brief rest on life's journey. Once the rest ends, the journey continues; once the waiting concludes, a new journey awaits. Perhaps there is no ultimate result or final goal, but living requires waiting for something, as these processes compose a complete life.
42. Choosing the right career may achieve a lifetime; choosing the right friends may nourish a lifetime; choosing the right partner may bring a lifetime of happiness; choosing the right perspective may strengthen a lifetime.
43. Life is like a boat and the world like an ocean; you must steer yourself and choose the right currents and winds.
44. Life is like a landscape; only by advancing through wind, frost, rain, and snow can you behold more distant and magnificent views.
45. To cultivate the Way while living in the world (Ju Chen Xue Dao) is something that both renowned scholars and ordinary people can achieve.
46. Those easily bound by emotions find it difficult to achieve great things.
47. Remembering those years, the beautiful mountains and rivers were not as stunning as your gentle, drunken slumber.
48. In quiet meditation, reflect on your own faults; in idle talk, do not discuss the failings of others.
49. Once, a sincere love was placed before me, but I did not cherish it, and I regretted it deeply when it was lost. This is the greatest pain in the world. If Heaven could give me another chance, I would say three words to that girl: "I love you." And if I had to set a deadline for this love, I would hope it is ten thousand years!
50. If the heart is simple, one can see through complex illusions; if life is simple and goals are clear, one can naturally go far. The more desires one has, the more pain one feels, and the further happiness drifts away. Only those who know how to restrain their desires can enjoy the true乐趣 of life. Some people, because they have been with you for a long time, may become indifferent or dismissive, yet they were the ones who held up the sky of your life; for others, once they are gone, just let them go—there is a great beauty in imperfection.
