1. Life is only a few decades long. How much time do we truly have to let go and love? Who knows when an unexpected event might occur. In this vast sea of people, how many can we find who truly love us?
2. Gratitude allows you to reach higher levels. Many successful people emphasize the importance of gratitude when sharing their experiences. Benjamin Franklin attributed his success to his habit of being grateful, as gratitude keeps one humble. American entrepreneur Henry Ford, after becoming a tycoon, never forgot the roots of his wealth, raising wages and improving worker conditions, which in turn fostered employee loyalty and improved business efficiency.
3. The true nature of Bodhi is the true nature of the mind; the true nature of the mind is the true nature of all phenomena.
4. It can be difficult to refuse a friend's request for fear of damaging a hard-won friendship. However, constant compliance can lead to resentment. Therefore, one should learn to refuse gracefully to ensure long-lasting friendship.
5. One must exercise discretion when speaking. Avoid being too rigid or harsh, as careless words can wound others' hearts, and emotional wounds are difficult to heal. Always strive to speak with tact.
6. Do not assume success or failure has no cause; today's bitter fruit is yesterday's seed, and today's efforts are tomorrow's blossoms. In life, treat others as human when you are above them, and treat yourself as human when you are below them. A degree of forgetting brings complete happiness. Instead of forcing others to love you, strive to become someone worthy of love.
7. To win by surprise, one must strike first, provided there is a thorough understanding of the opponent and targeted action.
8. Eloquence does not guarantee high moral character; one should observe actions rather than just listening to words. Furthermore, even if a person is flawed, if their words are reasonable, they should be accepted instead of being dismissed due to prejudice.
9. To yield without contention is to learn the art of retreat. Those who know how to yield gain more respect and master the art of living.
10. Those who lose their reason often act impulsively without considering consequences, seeking momentary pleasure only to find themselves in a passive position.
11. Guo'er will never marry your daughter, because I intend to be Guo'er's wife!
12. "If I had a next life, I would still spend it alone, because the one I love does not love me." — An Yiru, *If Life Were Only Like the First Meeting*
13. If you hold others in your heart, sincerity will be returned.
14. Do not fear falling within your own dreams, but fear getting lost in the miracles of others. Be the master of your own dreams, not an audience to someone else's miracles. To remember without understanding is tragic; to be correct without persistence is regrettable; to make a promise without ability is loathsome. Friends do not need to be together constantly, but they should never feel like strangers when they meet. With good friends, life becomes colorful, and every way of living should bring both harvest and joy.
15. The Buddha said: If happiness is built upon the suffering of others, it is not happiness but the creation of karma. If joy leads to suffering, it is not joy but suffering yet to mature. If wealth comes from unethical industries, it is not prosperity but accumulated debt. If intelligence is used for selfishness, it is not wisdom but ignorance. True happiness and joy arise because one does not stand upon evil, and thus, suffering does not arise.
16. Many nights, during many midnight reveries, I lie in the darkness, longing for Xixi to the point of madness. Longing gnaws at my body like an insect, until I become a vast, empty void. The night is so long and dark; the rain outside the window is the tears in my heart, a rain that never ends.
17. How do I feel about losing Xixi? The Bible says, "I can bear all things given to me," yet when facing an irreplaceable loss, one feels unable to bear it, fearing they might become half a person.
18. When a person confirms the existence of another who loves them sincerely, that is happiness. Conversely, when a person is deceived by the one they cherish most, one of life's greatest pains is born.
19. Since we may not be wed in the next life, we must cherish this one, for in the future, we will be strangers.
20. I truly want to catch fish and eat bear paws at the same time.
21. Anyone who encounters a friendly person in this world and experiences the state of heartfelt companionship has tasted the joy of heaven and earth.
22. Those who have never been tormented by the unknown do not know the joy of discovery.
23. There are always things we do not wish to happen but must accept, and things we do not wish to know but must understand.
24. When discovering someone's flaws, do not rush to speak, for you may not see through them. When discovering someone's virtues, do not constantly praise them to others, as repeated praise can become tiresome.
25. We are accustomed to writing life as misty and uncertain, yet we refuse to admit that everything is merely the complexity within our own hearts.
