23. Your thoughts determine your choices, and your choices determine your life. While we cannot choose our origins, through our efforts, we can become the ancestors of nobility. Success and failure are both accidental and inevitable parts of life. As long as you bravely choose the distant horizon, you are destined to face the possibility of both victory and defeat. The key to life is: as long as you act, every outcome is magnificent. Hard work brings beauty, and struggle creates the future.
24. With an equanimous mind, success or failure will not shake your resolve; honor or disgrace will not disturb your spirit. With a calm heart, life becomes clear, and fame or fortune becomes secondary. Meet storms with composure and release past grievances with kindness; this not only extends your life but also brings harmony to your family. In the struggle of life, a single sympathetic glance, however brief, can be deeply moving, so we must learn to be grateful.
25. Dear self, since you have just cheered up, please do not let yourself sink into depression again. Nothing is worth such sorrow; please be happy. In this life, there are many dreams we cannot realize and goals we cannot reach. "How can everything go as one wishes? One should only seek to have a clear conscience." Perhaps all the waiting is for that moment when the dust settles; through the endless dawn and dusk, those fragmented moments have become wind chimes on the threshold of the soul, singing softly.
26. It is easy to live at home, but difficult to venture out. In truth, the difficulty lies not in leaving home, but in how one lived while at home. If you lived at home with everything served to you without lifting a finger, you will naturally struggle when you step out. No matter how busy or professional you are, basic life skills are indispensable. A person lacking self-sufficiency often finds themselves facing life's challenges with a bitter smile.
27. If we want more roses, we must plant more rose trees.
28. Those who avoid reality will face an even less ideal future.
29. He who does not make full use of time will never truly master life.
30. If your achievements yesterday were great, it means your efforts today are still not enough.
31. To understand oneself is the beginning of wisdom.
32. The difference between premature maturity and genius lies in this: the former runs a marathon in a hundred-meter sprint style, leading early but quickly exhausting; the latter maintains a steady lead, often far beyond the sight of others.
33. Even when working for others, maintain the mindset of an owner.
34. When facing the temptation of inheritance, beautiful partners, or major business shares, would you trample your siblings to claim it all? Would you turn against your kin for profit? As blood relatives, why engage in fratricide? No matter how great the rift, do not do things that please your enemies and hurt your loved ones.
35. As the saying goes, "times create heroes," but in truth, anyone who does not back down at the critical moment can be a hero.
36. To despise others is, in essence, to despise oneself.
37. Truly knowing oneself is no easy task. Many people live tragedies not due to a lack of ability, but because they do not understand themselves or the society they live in, leading them to collapse under minor setbacks and waste their years in complaint and hesitation. Therefore, we must recognize ourselves objectively and early, rather than wasting our prime years.
38. We often feel unhappy because we fail to cherish what we currently have. We are always looking toward a distant "heaven" or a better future, overlooking the present. Yet, what you possess now is what you can truly grasp. Only by earnestly enjoying the present can you experience true happiness.
39. Life is like a play, and the performance depends entirely on you. Whether life presents a tragedy, a comedy, or a mundane reality, you are the one who defines it. Perhaps there is no rainbow after the storm, or perhaps your efforts yield no immediate reward, but at least you tried. Live each day earnestly and believe that tomorrow will be better.
40. Some memories remain incomplete due to loss, but life is beautiful because of what we possess. One should live by mindset rather than mere mood. The more you obsess over understanding everything, the more confused you may become. Obsession is like a tangled ball of yarn—the harder you pull, the messier it gets. Let things take their natural course; to accept what comes is the way of survival.
41. The meditation method of calming turbulent thoughts and remaining in a state of tranquility is called "Samatha" (止); "Vipassana" (观) is the process of realizing the true nature of the mind. Whether practicing Samatha or Vipassana, the most important thing is to know how to settle the mind, remaining relaxed and open. The goal of meditation is not to reach a state of no-thought, but to no longer be disturbed by thoughts.
42. I am simple-hearted and easily moved. If you do not love me, please do not move my heart lightly.
43. Unpleasant things happen eight or nine times out of ten; no life can be eternally calm. The encounters in life are not entirely within our control or predictable. In a volatile environment, the best way to cope is to learn to adapt to circumstances and avoid futile conflicts.
44. If you cannot make your parents proud, at least let them worry less about you.
