8. Over the years, the greatest wisdom I have learned is silence. When faced with malice or doubt, I know they cannot truly take anything away from me. My family, friends, and work remain unshaken by the outside world. Thus, even when I could argue or defend my position, I choose silence, trusting that time will reveal the cause and effect. This is not a divine judgment, but the inevitable consequence of the choices we make between good and evil.
9. One should live with: firmness without stubbornness; forbearance without weakness; liveliness without frivolity; caution without cowardice; courage without recklessness; confidence without arrogance; and composure without indecisiveness.
10. 金屑眼中翳,衣珠法上尘。己灵犹不重,佛祖为何人?In this world, no one can steal our happiness, no one can stop our growth, and no one can replace our joy. Everything depends on ourselves.
11. Yet, standing in a city of millions, enduring a solitary rain of the heart, listening to a lone song, drinking alone, and counting one's own loneliness—who could understand such bitterness?
12. Life requires reflection. Looking back allows us to sublimate through the tasting of gains, losses, sweetness, and bitterness. Looking forward is about dreams and goals; looking back is for verification and correction. Without grief or resentment, the heart remains tranquil.
13. Much of our strife stems from work or trivial matters in life. "A step back reveals a broader sky." Let the past stay in the past. By not harboring resentment, the bitterness between people will vanish; otherwise, when will the cycle of vengeance ever end?
14. When someone is in difficulty, lend a helping hand. Help others with genuine enthusiasm and sincerity, especially those in adversity. Acting with conscience and without seeking reward is true kindness.
15. Offending ten gentlemen is not frightening; what is frightening is offending a petty person.
16. Just as tempering iron requires intense heat, friendship requires sincerity.
17. Opportunity is not absolutely fair, but it certainly favors those who are prepared.
