41. Whether male or female, isolation results in a fragmented personality; only through integration can a complete human nature be formed. If men are characterized by strength and women by gentleness, then strength without gentleness becomes brittle, and gentleness without strength becomes weakness. True resilience lies in the balance of both.
42. When geese rest, one must act as a sentry, known as the 'goose slave,' taking turns to alert the flock of any movement. A hunter once failed multiple times to catch geese. He then devised a plan: rush directly toward the flock and hide immediately after the sentry calls out. After several escapes, the flock, seeing no immediate threat, blamed the sentry and pecked it to death. The sentry mourned in silence, but when the hunter approached again, it remained quiet, leading to the death of more than half the flock. — The world is much the same: loyalty is often misunderstood, and those who refuse to yield are often misunderstood.
43. There are three levels of life: The first is 'seeing far,' possessing grand goals and not obsessing over small gains or trivial matters; the second is 'seeing through,' having the ability and unique vision to perceive the essence behind complex phenomena; the third is 'seeing lightly,' letting go of fame and fortune, viewing the complexities of the world with calm detachment.
44. It is difficult to maintain an equanimous heart in life. Only by following nature can one find inner peace, and only through simplicity and less desire can one find a happy life. One should be indifferent to trivialities and more open-minded. Fate is not a mysterious force, but the fruit of one's own choices. How you choose determines how your fate unfolds. To know how much effort you have exerted, simply look at how much fruit hangs on the tree. The harder you work, the luckier you become.
45. What makes us unhappy are often trivial matters; we can fan away an elephant, yet we are often unsettled by a single fly.
46. Be a noble, pure, and guiltless person.
47. Do not let arrogance mix with your wisdom, and do not let your humility lack wisdom.
48. To seek wealth through unjust means is shameful. A truly wealthy person would never use such disgraceful methods, lest they suffer the punishment of conscience and hear their own heart racing in fear.
49. Possess a strong inner core. Be prepared: the world is not always beautiful; it can be dark, dirty, and ugly. Set ambitious goals and do not live a mediocre life just to survive. Reading ten thousand books is not as good as traveling a thousand miles; traveling a thousand miles is not as good as meeting countless people; meeting countless people is not as good as being guided by a great mentor. Teachers are easy to find, but true mentors are rare.
50. As long as there is unyielding will in your heart, it is not yet time to give up. When you are unhappy, you may cry, but after crying, remember to wipe your tears and continue toward your goal. Learn to say thank you for help and learn to reciprocate kindness; never take the goodness of others for granted, for no one owes you anything.
51. Time brings maturity, and confidence is vital. Making appropriate choices is necessary, and the capacity to endure the process is essential. Psychological adjustment should be a regular practice, and the pursuit of success requires unceasing effort. Joy is found through continuous success and self-transcendence.
52. Life is like rowing a boat through waves; one should be like a helmsman, ensuring every stroke is purposeful and none are wasted.
53. Understand others, and they will understand you; care for others, and they will care for you.
54. A love built on the obligation of gratitude is not true love and often leads to tragedy.
55. A practitioner should act with moderation—neither standing idly by nor blindly throwing themselves into chaos.
56. No one can be responsible for your destiny except yourself. As the saying goes, 'Reality is created by the mind, and appearance is born from the heart.' Everything you possess now stems from your intentions. Every choice you make and every step you take reflects your mindset. Stop complaining about life or blaming fate, for everything you experience is of your own making, and Heaven is merely bearing the blame for you.
57. Love requires sincerity, happiness requires sharing, arguments require communication, and loneliness requires companionship.
58. If the heart moves too slowly, reality becomes pale; if the feet move too slowly, dreams cannot fly high.
59. The fear of losing what one has stems from having a pure and kind heart. I will stay here to guard my vows; even amidst wind and rain, I will never leave. Before time, please humble your pride.
60. The true flavor of life lies in 'detachment,' and grace lies in 'forgetting.' When the wind comes, the bamboo bends; when the wind leaves, the bamboo stands straight again, as if the wind had never passed. When clouds come, a shadow remains on the pond; when clouds leave, the pond is crystal clear, as if the clouds had never been there. A person with a broad mind will not be enraged by the negligence of others, nor will they be consumed by sadness due to the harm caused by others.
