An olive tree mocked a fig tree, saying, "Your leaves all fall in winter, leaving your branches bare and ugly. Unlike me, I stay evergreen all year round and am incredibly beautiful." Soon, a heavy snowfall arrived. The olive tree's lush green leaves collected thick layers of snow, which eventually became too heavy and snapped its branches, destroying its beauty. However, because the fig tree had already lost its leaves, its bare branches allowed the snow to pass through to the ground, leaving it unharmed.
Reflection: External beauty does not always suit the environment; sometimes, it can become a burden that brings trouble or even disaster to one's survival. Conversely, simplicity can allow one to live freely and peacefully. Therefore, instead of chasing vain beauty or false status, it is better to let go of superficiality and embrace a simple, authentic life. Doing so will surely bring you greater joy.
