Activities and Honors — Heroes are not judged by success or failure!
Since 2007, I have actively participated in various campus activities and achieved several accomplishments. I won second place in the freshman military training speech contest; second prize in the “Yiyun Cup” Chinese speech competition; first prize in the dormitory culture design competition with the title “I Am the Dorm Leader”; and was awarded the title of “Advanced Civilized Dormitory.” I was also recognized as an “Outstanding League Member” and student representative. In addition, I participated in the torch relay event, the May Fourth Youth Day series activities, the Qingming Festival memorial activities, visited the Haikou Anti-Drug Center, and took part in various volunteer programs. I also joined the department sports meeting and donated blood twice. Although these experiences included ups and downs, joy and tears, I have learned to face everything with a smile.
Social Experience — “Enduring the greatest hardships prepares one for greatness”
In addition to my studies, I used my spare time to gain work experience. I worked part-time at “Slow Motion Café” in Jinpan, earning 2.5 RMB per hour. During winter vacation, I went alone to Shenzhen to work as a waiter at “Lijiang You Yi Xuan,” earning 800 RMB per month. In the summer, I worked in Shenzhen at “Xinghai Yuan” as a field sales assistant, earning 50 RMB per day. On weekends, I distributed flyers for the college and companies, earning 50 RMB per day. Sometimes I also worked as a waiter at restaurants near the school gate, earning 300 RMB per month. Although these experiences were tiring and challenging, they gave me two important feelings: “worth it” and “fulfilling.” These experiences will become valuable assets in my future life.
The above is my reason for applying for the National Encouragement Scholarship. I sincerely request your approval upon review.
