Finally, the elder brother achieved success and built a company even larger than the one where his younger brother worked. Meanwhile, the younger brother’s company was affected by changes in the times and was on the verge of collapse. He had no choice but to look for a new job again. However, this time, having experienced very little failure in his life, he repeatedly faced rejection. With nowhere else to turn and barely enough money to survive, he felt deeply discouraged. In desperation, he decided to attend one last job interview.
Unexpectedly, the chairman of the company agreed to meet him personally, which gave the younger brother a glimmer of hope. The chairman asked him: What is failure?
The younger brother was puzzled, as he had rarely encountered real failure in his life. The chairman slowly replied: Failure is just a noun. In reality, failure does not truly exist. Those who fail are simply the ones who have already accepted the idea of being a failure in their minds. As long as you do not give up, success will eventually come.
After speaking, the chairman turned around, and the younger brother was shocked to discover that the chairman was actually his elder brother.
So what is failure? Failure is merely a concept; it does not truly exist. What defeats a person is not external setbacks, but the inner belief that he is defeated. When someone defines himself as a failure, he truly becomes one. Just as drowning does not happen the moment one falls into water, but only when one stops struggling, we must keep moving forward to swim out of the so-called “sea of failure” and reach the light of success.
One failure does not mean lifelong failure, and repeated setbacks do not guarantee future defeat. If someone never succeeds in life, it is only because they have never stopped trying. Everyone has unique strengths and potential. When you feel like a failure, you may actually be standing at the edge of success without realizing it.
Remember, no one is perfect. As the saying goes, nothing is flawless in the world. No achievement comes overnight; only through continuous effort and persistence can true success be reached. Like the plum blossoms in winter, only after enduring the coldest storms can they bloom most beautifully.
Keep striving, believe in yourself, and remember: success may be just one step away.
