No matter what a person has done in the past, if they stand up for justice in critical moments, they can be considered a hero. Fighting criminals, protecting national property, and dedicating oneself to just causes require timing, courage, and a fearless spirit, yet everyone has the opportunity to be a hero in daily life. Do not act recklessly in wealth, and remain optimistic even in poverty. Regardless of circumstances, we can demonstrate the demeanor of a noble person. In the film industry, we often hear: “I cannot express in words the gratitude I feel toward the director who believed in me.” “Without the strong recommendation of certain actors, I would not have achieved what I have today.” Indeed, without such mentors discovering talent, actors might remain unknown for five, ten, or even twenty years. The best way for actors to repay their benefactors is by improving their craft and proving that the mentor’s choice was right. Tolerance is a magnanimous heart, wisdom, and the courage to face life. To be tolerant of others is to be tolerant of oneself. Friends who forgive each other remain united for life; spouses who are mutually forgiving share a lifetime together. Those who are tolerant possess a pure heart and live a joyful life. Every beginning is difficult. The difficulty lies in uncertainty—uncertain whom to ask and what method is most effective. Once these questions are resolved, no task will seem insurmountable. A road is defined by its curves; a person is defined by their mistakes. Being self-righteous proves ignorance; losing temper easily proves incompetence. Observe both words and deeds to judge a person. Take the words of a teacher without questioning their deeds to follow the path of virtue.
