People often say that love should be passionate and intense, but what about friendship? In my view, friendship is like a slow and steady stream, made up of the small details of everyday life.
I don’t know when it began—how we, once strangers, became close friends who shared everything. And I also don’t know when it was that we slowly drifted apart. Yet those memories of our youthful days still surge in my mind.
It was another cold winter day. Outside the window, everything was still hazy, and the piercing wind howled through the streets. Inside the room, I, who should have been up early, clung tightly to the warmth of my bed, sleeping soundly. But you, my dear friend, had already arrived and gently woken me up. The icy touch of your fingers made me shiver, yet it also filled me with warmth and concern. You could have stayed in your own warm bed, but instead you came early just so I wouldn’t be late. Such friendship is beyond words. All I could do was warm your freezing hands for a moment, yet you still urged me to get ready quickly. In a rush, we rode our bicycles, laughing and joking as we braved the cold wind on our way to school. Even though the weather remained harsh, that unspoken bond of friendship flowed warmly between us. My dear friend, thank you for making this winter so warm and beautiful.
