To distinguish social strata, there is only one way: competition. You must strive forward, or else you will end up at the bottom of society.
Seeking knowledge without contentment leads to progress; living with contentment brings happiness; dissatisfaction in life leads to disappointment; failing to cherish what you possess leads to pain; not valuing blessings leads to their loss; seeking wealth without talent leads to failure; and neglecting health in pursuit of tasks leads to regret.
There are two types of happy people: those who truly understand life and see everything in the world as worthy of appreciation and tolerance; and those who love life so much that they do not even know what trouble is, living happily forever.
The brave have no fear, the wise are not confused, and the benevolent have no worries. The brave are not those without fear, but those who overcome it; in their hearts, the pursuit of desire far outweighs the fear of difficulty. The wise see through the complexities of human affairs and the changes of the universe, remaining indifferent to the temptations of fame and fortune, thus knowing when to advance or retreat. The benevolent harbor the world in their hearts and transcend the small self, so they are broad-minded and tolerant, finding peace through non-contention.
