Do not cry because something has ended; smile because it once happened. Good and evil actions arise from the thoughts within the heart. All human words and deeds originate from the mind. If one can subdue the mind, one can also restrain all behaviors. To prevent wrongdoing, one must first cultivate and discipline the heart. The passing of time always brings a sense of loss. Standing on the youthful path of life, we look back at faint memories and forward to an uncertain future, wondering why time passes so quickly. Another year slips away; we grow, yet often cannot clearly define what we have truly gained. Those who overcome themselves far outnumber those who are defeated by others. More happiness, less suffering; more truth, less deception; more tolerance, less resentment; more sincerity, less hypocrisy. Life is a balance of choices, and wisdom lies in knowing how to choose. Most people drift through the crowded world without direction, spending their lives in busyness without knowing where they are headed. Others, however, never forget their goals and thus continue to carve out a path toward their destination. If you only see the faults and disputes of others each day, you should promptly reflect and repent; this is also a form of practice. Life consists of two inevitable cups: bitterness and sweetness, from which no one can escape. The difference lies in the order—some endure hardship first and enjoy sweetness later, while others experience the reverse. True success often belongs to those who persist through hardship. Life is a process of continual forgetting and renewal, like a tree in bloom—sometimes quiet, sometimes passionate, sometimes lonely, sometimes brilliant. Life will not always be smooth. Happiness is a day, and troubles are also a day; rather than struggle, it is better to choose to live each day with ease and joy.
