One lives only once; do not live too exhaustively. If the pace of work is too fast, the mental pressure too heavy, the competitive spirit too strong, or the lifestyle too chaotic, one's spirit and physical strength will eventually collapse. To live comfortably, happily, and freely, one must learn to be content and to adapt to circumstances. Happiness is doubled when shared, and a beautiful life should be filled with anticipation, surprises, and gratitude.
May you be able to stop and watch the sunset when weary, and may someone accompany you on your journey through life.
Prioritize the nation, focus on the people, value harmony, and treat sincerity as gold. Harmony and friendship, fairness and justice, self-reliance, respect for culture and peace, compliance with laws, integrity and civility, filial piety to parents, benevolence to the world, modesty, and gratitude to the motherland.
Filial piety is the foundation of all virtues. Without it, so-called kindness is merely a castle in the air, illusory and purely formal. Filial piety is a fleeting sentiment and an irreplaceable happiness; once missed, it becomes a lifelong regret. Do not let your filial piety come too late, and do not leave behind the sorrow of "when the child wishes to care for the parents, they are no longer there."
Master Cheng Yen said: "Good deeds should be timely, and merit should be continuous. It is like boiling water; you must not stop the heat before it boils, otherwise, starting over will be difficult."
When we set out, life truly begins; when we set out, our wisdom begins to unfold. Life often plays jokes on us: the more you crave something, the further it drifts away; the more you cling to someone, the deeper they may hurt you.
A wise man's eyes are on his head—he must avoid arrogance; a blind man's eyes are at his feet—he must avoid obstinacy.
One's life should not be wasted for a single tree, nor should we miss the beautiful scenery along the way, and certainly not engage in futile persistence, like standing on a lonely island waiting for a bridge to the other side. Learn to turn, withstand temptation, and endure loneliness. Do not let emotions swallow your reason, and do not let your shadow pull you down on a familiar path. Ignite the flame of happiness, stir the desire for achievement, and walk steadily on the path beneath your feet. I believe that with every effort comes a harvest; through gradual progress, one will eventually achieve success. Happiness lies in: seeing through life and improving a little bit every day.
We often do not lose to others, but rather to our own bad moods, which diminish our image, reduce our abilities, and disturb our thoughts, causing us to lose to ourselves.
No matter who you are, when you give someone a sincere smile, you receive friendship, gratitude, joy, and respect. When you smile, you also forget your troubles. Your smile conveys a simple happiness, yet the most ordinary things are often the most touching.
Life has only a past that cannot be returned to, and a present that can always be overcome. Heaven only sets challenges that can be passed; no matter how difficult life is or how deep the hurdles, we can push through with grit.
"Frugality nurtures virtue" is a fine teaching for conduct.
Life is like a dream, and a dream is like life. Once we understand and make peace with many tasks, we can be cheerful and enterprising at any time, enjoying the happiness of responsibility and overcoming hardships. The iron law of the world is: for every loss, there is a gain; for every hardship, there is a joy. Hardship is a necessary experience.
If I had not met you, I would not have understood what liking is, would not have tried to guess if you were happy or sad, would not have rejoiced in your joy, or felt anxious in your sorrow. I might have even foolishly helped you find her, foolishly hoped for your happiness, and foolishly cherished your class yearbook. Those days were truly happy.
Friendship lasts from beginning to end; do not let it be divided by rise or fall.
Gifts from others are limited; only you can earn an infinite world.
Those with hobbies will always find new discoveries in life.
I believe one of the world's greatest powers comes from the spirit of believing in oneself, daring to climb, and living actively.
Do not be too extreme in your actions, or you will find it hard to advance or retreat. Life is a play, filled with joys and sorrows, and rarely as one wishes; after all, we are not fate. In this play of life, only fate is the director.
All things are in constant flux. To pin your life and happiness on the permanence of things will only lead to endless disappointment.
You have only one life; grasp it with heart and meet it with calm. When you cannot see clearly, think of it to find release; when discouraged, think of it to rise; when angry, think of it to calm; when dissatisfied, think of it to be grateful. Regardless, you are fortunate to have this life; do not let it be in vain.
Food has an expiration date, and so do youth and women. Please love and care for her before her time expires, for she does not wait. Everything has its season, and so does love. Love has its birth, old age, and death. Love expires unnoticed; one day, we realize its most vibrant days are gone forever.
Will lost things return? Perhaps. But I once lost a button, and by the time I found it, I had already changed my clothes.
