Everyone may encounter happiness or pain. Let us place the years of our lives carefully, whether in joy or sorrow; collect the vicissitudes of life, whether deep or light. Sometimes, the bumps in life are not a bad thing, for they allow us to appreciate the scenery along the way. Through many experiences, the heart grows stronger; by overcoming many obstacles, the mind becomes more open. Learn to walk lightly, let go of burdens, and soar quietly through deep understanding.
As life progresses, I have gradually changed, making happiness a habit. I discovered that my joy could infect others. When asked why, I simply say: happiness is a habit. I should live every day happily, letting go of what needs to be forgotten. Although I may not satisfy all material needs, I have learned to heal my soul's emptiness. The stories we pass through are understood once lived.
To love a man, you may love his handsomeness, intelligence, or talent, but do not stop there. His looks, intellect, talent, wealth, and career belong to him; only his affection for you is truly his devotion. It is this affection that grants you a place in his life, making you both unique.
The most interesting thing about life is the cycle of the old making way for the new, as the highest human desire is to constantly create a new life. The most critical task in life is choice, yet the most difficult part is that we must choose continuously. Sometimes, immediately after one choice, another arises. Sometimes we choose correctly at the beginning but err in the next step. Sometimes, despite making suitable choices, we find ourselves on an unsuitable path by the final decision.
In dealing with others, hide a bit of your own virtues and cover a bit of their faults; let go of past grudges and remember past kindnesses. Recognize hypocrisy without showing it, and endure loss without complaint. Bestow kindness without boasting, and receive favors without forgetting. If you wish to be understood, let others understand you first; if you wish to be respected, respect others first.
When weary, change your perspective on the world; when oppressed, take a deep breath in a new environment; when confused, think differently; when hesitant, choose differently; when depressed, seek joy in a new setting; when troubled, find ways to resolve it; when complaining, look at problems differently; and when feeling inferior, change your mindset. With a change of perspective, the world reveals a different face.
We came into this world not to spend our days grieving over imperfections. We have cried enough since birth, and we cannot return. Therefore, do not waste time in low spirits. Go forth to believe, to love, to dream, and to feel. Believe that there will always be a tomorrow.
Only through pain do we learn to protect ourselves; through tears, we feel the sting of heartache; through foolishness, we learn when to persist and when to let go; and through love, we realize our vulnerability. Life does not require meaningless persistence; nothing is truly impossible to let go.
Mist drifts hazily, dreams recur a thousand times, fallen flowers blanket the knees, as the worldly prosperity fades. A lonely murmur speaks to the emerald waves, and the scent in one's sleeves holds a lifetime of sorrow. A single tear falling on a rock clarifies the murky truth and aches with the persistence of this life.
Learn tranquility. In a society filled with utility, maintain a light posture and walk with composure. Listen to the breeze through the woods under the sun, and smell the scent of grass in the rain. Perhaps the true face of life is this simple.
Prudent people make fewer mistakes, while the reckless are prone to error. Only through constant self-discipline and management can failure be minimized.
To know much is to be inspired; to err much is to be confused; to lose much is to feel pain; to endure much is to find peace.
Appreciating others is a form of respect; being appreciated is a form of recognition.
Life is not meant for comparison, but for completion. We often judge others too easily. Instead, we should stand in their shoes and try to understand their actions. If we assume we can understand their experiences, we will realize their actions have reasons. Empathy makes life more beautiful.
When geese rest, one must act as a sentinel, called the "goose slave," taking turns. If there is any disturbance, it cries out to alert the flock. A hunter once failed many times, then devised a plan: approach the flock directly and hide after the sentinel cried. After several escapes where nothing happened, the geese grew angry at the sentinel and pecked at it. The sentinel, sighing in silence, did not cry out when the hunter approached again, resulting in more than half the flock being lost. The world is much the same: the loyal are often misunderstood, and those misunderstood often struggle to persevere.
Life is like rowing against the current; one must brave the rapids in the midst of dangerous shallows.
No one is forever slandered, nor is anyone forever praised. When you speak much, you are criticized; when you speak little, you are criticized; even in silence, you are criticized.
