Everyone longs for success, but the path to it is long and difficult. What supports us along the way is perseverance.
Perseverance is the walking stick that helps us climb the peak of success.
No matter what situation we face, we should never give up easily, because success may be waiting just around the next corner. Even a tiny seed can grow into a towering tree when nurtured by firm belief.
There is a story: French journalist Jean-Dominique Bauby suffered a heart attack that left him completely paralyzed and unable to speak. The only part of his body he could still move was his left eye. Before his illness, however, he had already conceived a book that had not yet been completed. He was determined to finish and publish it.
A publisher assigned an assistant named Claude Mendiboure to serve as his transcriber, working six hours a day to record his words.
Since Bauby could only communicate by blinking, they developed a system: the assistant read out common French letters in sequence, and Bauby selected them by blinking. Relying on memory to form words, he often made mistakes. At first, progress was extremely slow, with only one page completed per day. Later, it gradually increased to three pages. After months of hardship, they finally completed the work, titled "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly", totaling 150 pages. It is estimated that Bauby blinked more than 200,000 times to complete the book.
In the end, as long as a person remains devoted to a goal, nothing is truly impossible. What we call miracles are often the result of others’ daily persistence and hard work. Never give up at any time; as long as you persist, hope will always exist.
