I have a friend who passed the national judicial examination in 2008. Just when she believed her career path would be smooth and unrestricted, someone kindly reminded her that law is not an easy profession for women. In 2013, after passing the Level 2 Constructor qualification exam, she confidently planned to enter the construction industry, only to be told again that it is a man's world. I have also met several relatively successful women, yet in the eyes of some people, they are still unfairly labeled and misunderstood.
In what is called the 21st century, people often speak of gender equality, yet women are still subtly restricted in many industries. These limitations are sometimes framed as “protection,” but in reality they restrict women's opportunities. Women often find themselves in a dilemma: if they dedicate themselves to family, they may gradually lose their individuality; if they compete like men in the workplace, they may be labeled as overly aggressive or unfeminine; even when they achieve both beauty and career success, they may still face rumors and prejudice.
Statistics show that many expectant parents prefer having a boy. However, if gender imbalance continues to be ignored, what will the future look like for society and relationships? No one can choose their birth or gender. If you are a man, please respect and cherish the women around you, for they are the ones who give life its continuation. If you are a woman, strive to be independent and confident, at least financially self-sufficient, and never lose yourself by becoming dependent on others.
As for the barriers created by prejudice, when they cannot be changed immediately, perhaps we can face them with calmness. Yet social perceptions evolve over time, and such biases will eventually affect everyone. This is not a curse, but a cycle of reality.
May the world have less gender discrimination and more respect and tolerance for life.
