In the Wandoujia team, there was a talented graduate from Peking University named Cui Jin. She studied an international-related major at Peking University and had always been eager to enter the startup world. When applying for jobs, she once applied to Baidu. At that time, Baidu was still in its early stage of development, and she started as a front desk assistant. As a Peking University graduate, she still accepted the position and chose to learn and accumulate experience from the grassroots level.
Through her work experience at Baidu, Ogilvy, and Google, she continuously learned practical skills and interpersonal methods. These early accumulations eventually enabled her to become the Chief Operating Officer of Wandoujia, largely thanks to her decision to start from the bottom and maintain a humble attitude of learning after graduation.
Another entrepreneur we invested in is Xu Chaojun, a graduate of Tsinghua University. Through experience in multiple companies, he grew steadily and eventually founded Dianping under the support of Innovation Works. What matters most is not his success, but the humility he showed at the beginning of his journey. Coming from a rural background to Beijing, he realized there were many more capable people around him, so he worked hard to improve himself and gradually became a computer expert.
Before Renren went public, he did not stop progressing. Instead, he clearly recognized that he still needed to improve in operations, marketing, and user understanding. He then learned through working in different companies, continuously filling his gaps and gradually acquiring the comprehensive abilities he needed.
