In my daily life, I live simply and frugally, hold myself to high standards, treat others with kindness, respect my teachers, and actively communicate and get along harmoniously with my classmates. University life is an extremely important stage in my life. During this period, I did not compare material possessions with classmates but focused on what and how much I learned. I have made significant progress in all areas, greatly improving my overall qualities. Additionally, due to my family's financial difficulties, I have worked during spare time and holidays: off-campus as a flyer distributor, promoter, and tutor; on-campus as a library assistant, gaining recognition from teachers and classmates. Although many students look down on such work, I believe it not only alleviates my parents' financial burden but also teaches me skills that cannot be learned in class. Interacting with others through work has also made my personality more outgoing and enhanced my social and interpersonal skills.
In terms of work, I serve as the class sports committee member and head library assistant. Though these positions are modest, I have gained a lot. I am small and slender, and at first glance, people may doubt my suitability as a sports committee member, but my physical fitness is good and my sports performance has been consistently strong. Serving as sports committee member provided many opportunities to interact with classmates, strengthening relationships and boosting my confidence. My library work has also been rewarding; seeing classmates study in a well-organized environment brings me a sense of happiness because I can create a conducive learning space for others.
Regarding my family, we live in a small mountain village in Shouning County, Ningde City, Fujian Province, with limited transportation, requiring walking to return home. My parents are not in good health and cannot perform heavy labor, and the family’s only income comes from my parents’ tea picking. There are four people in the family, and my brother and I are studying, with high tuition fees, placing a heavy burden on my parents. Growing up in the countryside and witnessing life’s hardships, I aspire to improve my future through my own efforts.
Although my family’s financial situation is limited, I have never given up and always believe that effort brings rewards. To successfully complete my studies and to better give back to my parents and society in the future, I sincerely apply for the National Encouragement Scholarship and request the leadership’s review. In the days ahead, I will continue to hold myself to higher standards and strive for outstanding achievements!
