Hello! I am Zhang Qiao, a student from Class 2 of the Journalism Editing and Production major, Grade XX. In my second academic year, I have consistently maintained a positive attitude, held myself to high standards, and properly balanced my studies, work, and daily life, striving for all-round development. After learning about the National Encouragement Scholarship program and carefully evaluating my own situation, I hereby submit my application with full preparation. The following is my personal statement for your review.
I was born in a poor village in southwestern Henan Province, where my family faces severe financial difficulties. My grandmother is elderly and chronically ill, requiring ongoing medical treatment; my mother became disabled due to a car accident and has lost her ability to work. Our family of several members lives in a small, dilapidated house, and our income depends mainly on my elderly father, who farms a very small piece of land. Due to the heavy medical expenses for my grandmother and mother as well as high tuition fees, our family has accumulated significant debt, and my university education has largely been financed through loans.
Since entering university, I have made significant progress through nearly two years of hard work, with comprehensive improvement in various aspects. In terms of work, as a class leader, I have always adhered to the principle of serving my classmates, actively strengthening communication between teachers and students and playing a bridging role. During class management, I have not only improved my organizational and coordination abilities but also accumulated valuable experience and interpersonal relationships, creating a positive environment between teachers and students. To enrich classmates’ extracurricular life, I regularly organize various competitions and activities, helping some students discover their interests and strengths so they can better plan for the future. In daily class affairs, I strive for innovation and progress, maintain regular communication with teachers and classmates, and actively put forward constructive suggestions. When facing shortcomings, I remain humble and continuously improve myself.
