Everyone has their own path in life. The left side of the road represents happiness, while the right side represents unhappiness. Some people are accustomed to walking on the left, so they tend to see mostly happy things; others walk on the right and therefore see mostly unhappy things. When someone feels unhappy for a long time, it may simply be because they are standing in the wrong position. By shifting perspective and looking across, one may realize that happiness has always been alongside them, and then gradually adjust their habits to move closer to it.
