Once upon a time, two hungry people received a gift from an elder: a fishing rod and a basket of large, fresh fish. One chose the basket of fish, while the other chose the fishing rod, and they went their separate ways. The person with the fish immediately built a fire with dry wood and cooked the fish. He devoured it quickly, consuming both the fish and the broth. However, after finishing the fish, he had no means to sustain himself and soon died of hunger beside the empty basket. The other person, carrying the fishing rod, endured hunger and struggled step by step toward the sea. When he finally saw the distant blue ocean, his last bit of strength was exhausted, and he had to leave the world with regret. Later, another two hungry people received the same gifts: a fishing rod and a basket of fish. They did not go their separate ways but agreed to search for the sea together. They cooked only one fish at a time and, after a long journey, finally reached the sea. From then on, they lived by fishing and enjoyed a happy and prosperous life. This story shows that survival to the riverbank was only possible through cooperation. Humans are social beings, and living alone is difficult to sustain.
