There is no true despair in life. When trees shed their leaves in autumn, it pains the heart, yet throughout winter they quietly gather strength. When spring arrives, their vitality remains. Temporary successes and failures are but minor setbacks in a lifetime. When your heart feels weary, let it rest. The restoration of the soul is the hope that life never withers.
At that time, I was in a gloomy mood without reason. I kept doing something very childish: pouring water from a bottle into a cup and then back again. I repeated this endlessly, not knowing how many times I had gone back and forth.
If you want to achieve, do not merely hope; if you want results, do not wait to start; if you want perfection, do not only patch things up. Life is short and cannot endure waiting.
Happiness is like a beam of light. Besides shining on yourself, sometimes it should also shine on others.
A Zen master asked: Do you think a grain of gold is better, or a pile of mud? The seeker replied, of course gold! The master smiled and said: What if you were a seed? With a shift in perspective, perhaps you would find liberation.
Discipline yourself well, and do not act as a teacher to others. Be strict with yourself, generous with others; failing to forgive others only burdens yourself.
Once you see clearly, let go. Let go of greed, and you will have the peace to savor happiness.
