In 1858, a wealthy family in Sweden welcomed a daughter. However, shortly after, the child developed an inexplicable paralysis and lost the ability to walk.
During a boat trip with her family, the captain's wife told the girl about a magnificent "Bird of Paradise." Fascinated by the description, the girl was desperate to see it. Her nanny left her on the deck to find the captain, but unable to wait, the girl insisted that a steward take her to see the bird immediately. Unaware of her condition, the steward simply led her away to see the beautiful creature.
A miracle occurred: driven by an intense longing, the girl became so immersed in her desire that she instinctively grabbed the steward's hand and began to walk. From that moment on, her paralysis was cured. As she grew up, she devoted herself entirely to literary creation, eventually becoming the first female recipient of the Nobel Prize in Literature—Selma Lagerlöf.
