Life is full of ups and downs. If you do not rejoice at the rising of steam, why should you grieve over the falling rain? We often long to reunite with old friends but always use "finding an opportunity" as an excuse; we long to embrace our grown children but always wait for the "right moment"; we want to write to long-lost friends to express our admiration, yet we always tell ourselves "not in a hurry." In reality, every morning when we open our eyes, we should tell ourselves that this is a "special day." Every day and every minute is precious; "the future" and "someday" should not be excuses in one's vocabulary.
If there is a pile of apples on a table, people care not about the total number of apples, but how many they receive. If there is a heavy workload in an office, people care not about the total amount of work, but how much more they have to do. The world was originally simple, but became complex due to the pursuit of interest. The human heart was originally pure, but became murky due to the struggle for profit.
A mediocre person measures life by the amount of pleasure they enjoy, while a hero calculates it by the magnitude of their enterprise. Differences in thought create the diverse array of people in the world. The value of life lies in social need; the more people you serve, the greater your value becomes. The more one respects objective laws and transcends the self, the greater their self-worth becomes. Life has no ownership, only the right to use. The greatest value in life lies in knowing how to give; the feeling of being needed is life's greatest joy. True value is not found in past glories, but in the roles we play today. Past experiences may be like withered flowers, but today's ordinary life is a seed full of vitality.
No work in this world is without hardship. Life is a process of cultivation; there is no need to use an unsettled heart to waste the passing years. In life, if one develops the habit of "it is good to have, and it is fine not to have," one can turn suffering into happiness. Living itself is a form of practice.
The most important people in our lives may offer only a gentle warmth like a cup of tea while they are with us. But when you lose them, the entire world seems to become desolate in an instant. We are always trying to conquer space, yet we are often powerless against time.
