Unfortunately, I was wrong. When we meet again in the sea of people, though it feels like a lifetime apart, I still cannot cut off my longing for you, nor can I erase that faint smile of yours. In every step and every moment of hesitation, I am reminded of you—the one I have been searching for across lifetimes.
Promises held for a thousand years ultimately become mere passersby in life. They may color our longing, but cannot become each other’s future. The mortal world is impossible to pass through, and relationships are impossible to fully see through. After countless lifetimes of entanglement, even the most profound bonds cannot withstand the bitter drink of forgetting. Who can still ask about vows of eternity?
Life sometimes feels like entering a maze. Whether there is a path or not, we must keep moving forward. Borrow a clear vision from life, remain free from attachment and discrimination, and give your heart courage. Do not demand perfection from life’s gains and losses. Everything requires balance; excessive anger harms the body. Learn to recognize the blind spots in your character, stay within the boundaries of conscience, accept your imperfections, and do not overly magnify the mistakes and flaws of others.
Life requires sedimentation and enough time for reflection in order to gradually become better. It also requires accumulation; by frequently looking back, we can elevate ourselves through the experience of gains, losses, joys, and sorrows. Looking forward represents dreams and goals, while looking back represents results and corrections. Many things might have been done better if we had looked back earlier; many people might have come closer to what they desire if they had reflected sooner. In fact, looking back reveals that the path ahead has already been written behind us.
