Since I was a child, I have felt that books possess a magical power, to the point where I became obsessed with reading. As the saying goes, books are the spiritual food of mankind.
Books help us distinguish between beauty and ugliness, good and evil, and right and wrong. They act as a golden key that opens the doors to wisdom, guiding us toward the shores of success.
I feel an inseparable bond with books. As a young child, I would insist on my parents reading me "Andersen's Fairy Tales" before I would settle down to sleep. As I grew up, I was immersed in "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" and "Water Margin." Today, I often spend my leisure time reading classics like "Dead Souls," "Les Misérables," and "Crime and Punishment." I can never forget the innocence of the Little Mermaid, the wisdom of Zhuge Liang, or the stinginess of Pleshkin.
Books contain treasures. Much of the precious knowledge that cannot be learned in a classroom can be acquired through reading. Reading a great book is like sipping a fine cup of West Lake Longjing tea—the aftertaste is endless.
Books are lifelong companions. The ocean of books is boundless, and the mountains of books are endless peaks we continue to explore.
Whenever I feel lonely or bored, I enjoy settling down with a book. It enriches my spiritual world, brings me joy, and provides a profound sense of fulfillment.
