For most people, life is seemingly determined by their environment. Faced with the whims of fate, they not only endure but often struggle to adapt. While I respect this, I do not find it inspiring. There are others who hold their lives firmly in their own hands, shaping existence according to their own will. Though such individuals are as rare as stars, they deeply fascinate me.
Do not rush to conclusions when facing challenges. Even when you find an answer, wait a while; there might be a better way. Learning to see things from different perspectives is crucial. Especially when encountering troubles, learn to wait and stay calm. Often, not only is the trouble resolved, but unexpected good fortune may also arrive.
The highest state of living is understanding, and the highest state of life is peace of mind. With a tranquil mind, one can experience the wonder of "a closed door becomes a deep mountain, and reading becomes a pure land." When viewing the world with a calm heart, the world becomes an oasis of serenity. Even amidst the chirping of birds and the buzzing of cicadas, one can sense the quietude of the mountains. Immersing oneself in the moonlight and the gentle breeze brings a sense of profound refreshment. Like water, the mind remains still and flows in harmony with all things.
Life should be as indifferent as a flower, naturally fragrant along the way. Flowers do not bloom to compete for spring, yet spring remains vibrant; they do not bloom to attract butterflies, yet butterflies come of their own accord. Flowers grow quietly and bloom gracefully, living elegantly. Not seeking fame or glory, they simply bloom in their season and return to the earth when spring ends. To have lived beautifully is enough. Following the whims of the butterflies, they quietly guard their piece of sky and live out their days peacefully. By not obsessing over gain, one loses nothing.
Life is like a lit lamp, destined to eventually go out. Death is the moment the flame expires. Yet, reflecting deeply, death is not a punishment from God, but a gift from the God of Destiny. Just as we need sleep, we also need death. It is the dark backdrop of death that highlights the brilliant radiance of life. Imagine if life were infinite; without the end, what meaning would existence hold?
