When you think you have seen through someone, it is often because you love them even more. When you think you have given up on someone, it is actually because you cannot let go. In life, what we think and what we truly need are often opposites. What we wish to avoid is often what we must confront. It doesn't matter what we want or don't want; if we act, we take responsibility, and if we retreat, we accept it. All in this world are but passing travelers, while true love is the once-in-a-lifetime wound.
Each of us is unique in this world, with no replicas or duplicates; I am me, and you are you. Yet, as we look up to, imitate, and follow others, we gradually carry the imprints of others, losing our original selves. By fixating on the heights achieved by others, we not only lose our own stature but also the very ground upon which our souls stand.
Do not scrutinize a friend's flaws, do not leak their secrets, and do not hold onto their mistakes. Those who entice you with sweet words are not true friends; those who offer blunt, honest advice are. True friends do not demand something in exchange for friendship, but instead do everything they can for one another. True friendship is rare, and equal friendship is even harder to find.
We did not come into this world merely to be saddened by its imperfections. We have cried enough since birth, and since no one returns from this life, why waste time in despondency? Go forth to believe, to be lonely, to love, to hate, to dream, and even to regret. You must believe that there will always be a tomorrow waiting to be reached.
There are three realms of wisdom: shrewdness, intelligence, and brilliance. Shrewdness is like the eyes of a mouse, perceiving immediate food; intelligence is like the eyes of a tiger, detecting nearby prey; and brilliance is like the eyes of an eagle, discerning distant landscapes. When these three are unified, great things can be accomplished.
