A beautiful appearance does not equate to a beautiful soul. One should never judge solely by outward appearances, for even a rough shell can nurture a smooth pearl. Thinking carefully and understanding the big picture is the essence of wise conduct.
People hold diverse attitudes toward money. Some would rather suffer personal loss than lose money; some would rather lose money than compromise themselves; some fear losing wealth and only feel secure when it is held tightly in hand; and some are even willing to risk their lives for it.
You may not be the most beautiful, but you can be the most lovable. You may not be the smartest, but you can be the most diligent. You may not be the wealthiest, but you can be the most fulfilled. You may not always have smooth sailing, but you can be the most optimistic.
Laozi said, "When the hard teeth fall out, the soft tongue remains." Softness prevails over hardness, and non-action prevails over forced action. Learning to maintain a humble posture at the right time is not cowardice or timidity, but a clever way of navigating life—a manifestation of great wisdom and spiritual attainment.
Idleness consumes life, whereas proactive progress creates it. To remain stagnant is to be unaware of the vastness beyond; only by broadening our horizons can we realize the boundless possibilities of the world. There is nothing more rewarding than meaningful work.
A life without hardships is naive; a life without reflection is mediocre; a life without pursuit is empty; a life without vitality is impoverished; and a life without foresight is shallow.
Worrying constantly about how others perceive you is merely unnecessary anxiety. Life is as fleeting as spring grass and as transient as passing clouds. Everything is ephemeral; why dwell on trivialities or burden yourself with excessive concerns?
