Sincerity is like a blooming flower that eventually yields the fruit of friendship; it is like a clear stream, with the soul acting as its source. Life is rarely as enduring as a great masterpiece, nor as turbulent as historical chronicles. For ordinary people, life is often a series of quiet forgetfulness, where days fade into one another, until only the most unforgettable moments remain, regardless of when they occurred. We only live once, and the bitters and sweets of joy and sorrow are unavoidable. If we do not find ways to uplift ourselves and comfort our souls, life becomes an exhausting burden. "Live carefree to reach a hundred. Live with a clear conscience to live without exhaustion." Yesterday is past, and regret is merely history. "The pursuit of science is truth, the pursuit of morality is goodness, and the pursuit of art is beauty." Wealth is but the cycle of days; grand mansions are still just a bed to sleep in; luxury cars cannot escape worries; high status still requires daily labor; fleeting pleasures are but momentary joys; delicacies are merely sustenance; and riches and honors are transient. It is better to have enough to live on, to be content with how one looks, and to enjoy good health and simplicity.
