Life consists of three days: yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Life involves three stages of learning: youth is like the rising sun, adulthood like the midday sun, and old age like the glow of a candle. The truths of life—truth, goodness, and beauty—are like the skeleton, meridians, and flesh of the body.
Genius is only a step away from us. Contemporaries often fail to realize that this step spans a thousand miles, while later generations blindly believe that a thousand miles is just one step. As a result, contemporaries may neglect geniuses, whereas later generations revere them. As noted in "Words of a Dwarf," those who suffer often cannot perceive the full intensity of their pain, and it is the prolonged aftermath that truly breaks the heart.
When we open our eyes in the morning, we should tell ourselves: “Today is the best day!” Whatever happened yesterday is in the past and cannot be changed. Don’t let yesterday’s troubles affect today’s mood. When starting work, no matter how busy or pressured, do not complain—maintain a good mindset and live each day fully.
In a sense, taking risks reflects a spirit of initiative. In scientific endeavors, without the risks taken by a few, there would be no scientific progress and no societal development. Without risk-taking, crabs would still not be a delicacy on our tables.
People have various attitudes toward money. Some would rather lose themselves than lose money; some would rather lose money than compromise themselves; some fear losing money and hold it tightly every day; and the extreme case is the common saying: “want money, care nothing for life.”
