Seeking knowledge and gaining insight through practice is indeed valuable, but it is ignorant to reject new truths simply because one has not yet implemented them. Not all truths require personal practice; even if we lack the capacity to act on them, we should not refuse to understand them. Many truths are interconnected; understanding those we cannot personally practice can inspire our current actions.
We call for everlasting understanding, but first, we must understand the lack of understanding in others.
Love is like a precious porcelain piece; once a crack appears, even the most skillful repair cannot make it as good as new. Love without mutual understanding is unstable—knowledge must precede love. Regardless of success or failure, those who believe in letting things take their course will find more surprises.
We possess dual natures: an elegant smile cannot hide tears in suffering; social composure cannot replace solitude in silence; the snoring of a drunkard cannot drive away sleeplessness in the long night; and the pursuit of material desires cannot withstand spiritual emptiness. Thus, we learn to smile through tears, to savor loneliness, to face the darkness of the night, and to question our own souls. As long as we do not lose ourselves, we possess the world.
The best way to preserve youth is to maintain a young mindset; the best way to maintain health is to exercise regularly; the best way to stay happy is to help others; and the best way to avoid mistakes is to think twice before acting. We should live for happiness, move forward with confidence, climb for glory, strive for ideals, exert ourselves for our careers, and dedicate ourselves to our country; only then will our lives not be in vain.
